Wait Until He Died

(Chorus)
Why did they have to wait
Wait until he died
Oh tell me
Why couldn’t they talk to him
When he was alive

I saw his picture in magazines
High powered speeches on TV
The media branded him Dangerous Man
Whose life achievements they now can eulogize oh,

(chorus)

It wasn’t long ‘til the interviews
With his widow and children
The press hated dealing with him face to face
This genius from another race

Now after all has been laid to rest
His life becomes just a memory
Unless a few keep his dream alive
A dream his people never say die oh

(chorus)

This is what happens when a songwriter reads and thinks.   This song was a party crasher. It wasn’t on my original list but when I started to remember its existence  I knew it was going to make the final cut.

Musical inspirations: Kate Bush (piano part), Timmy Thomas (organ part)
