One Man Dead

I felt funny tryin’ to write this
I’m not exactly sure what I feel
I know some people are called survivors
And someone got taken out
That’s for real

(Chorus)
And there’s
One man dead
Two men walking
A brother is gone
No one is talking
I said there’s
One man dead
And left behind
A mother is losing her mind

I don’t go looking for justice in a kangaroo court
I don’t look for truth from fools
Just seems like killing brothers is the favorite sport
Extra points to see the blood in pools

I’m not saying things are simple
(no no no no)I’m sayin’ I see the game
Like everybody’s scared to wanna try and speak the truth
On their way to find their fortune and fame

(chorus)

I felt funny tryin’ to write this
I’m not exactly sure what I feel
I know some people are called survivors
And someone got taken out
That’s for real

This was written in direct response to the Snoop Dogg trial where he and his associate were accused of murdering a young man. The thing I have found fascinating was it seemed like the victim was of Ethiopian descent and they were saying he was a gang member. I didn’t  know there was an Ethiopian gang in LA.  Haven’t heard of one since as a matter of fact.
